Vietnam eSIM Prices 2026 — Airalo, Holafly, Nomad & More Compared
Last updated: March 2026
Vietnam eSIM prices are generally affordable — but the headline number doesn't always tell the full story. Networks vary significantly in rural coverage. Unlimited plans throttle. And some providers charge the same price for very different validity windows.
This page lists exactly what each major Vietnam eSIM provider charges in 2026, what you actually get for that price, and where the trade-offs are. Whether you're looking for a travel data plan for a week in Hanoi or a month-long trip down the coast, we sell eSIMs ourselves, so we're not neutral — but where a competitor offers better value, we'll say so.
Quick summary: Vietnam eSIM prices 2026
- Cheapest 5 GB plan: Travelsim Asia — $9.50 / 30 days
- Best rural network coverage: Airalo (Viettel + Vinaphone)
- No app required: Travelsim Asia
- Best unlimited FUP: Saily — 5 GB/day before throttling, most generous cap in this comparison
- Unlimited only (no fixed plans): Holafly
- Best short-trip 10 GB deal: Ubigi — ~$12.55 / 7 days

How much does a Vietnam eSIM cost? (quick answer)
For a typical one to two week trip — Grab, maps, messaging, and social media — expect to pay $9–$18 total on a fixed plan. Vietnam is less data-intensive than Japan but more data-intensive than a pure beach holiday, because you'll constantly use Grab for transport and food delivery.
| Plan size | Best for | Price range |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 GB | Short trips (3–7 days), light users | $4.99–$8.50 |
| 5 GB | 1–2 weeks, regular use | $9.50–$11.50 |
| 10 GB | 2 weeks, heavier use or city-hopping | ~$12.55–$17.99 |
| 20 GB+ | Long stays, remote workers | $27.99–$40+ |
| Unlimited | Hotspot users, heavy streamers | ~$18–$30 / week |
Airalo Vietnam eSIM prices 2026
Airalo is the most widely used eSIM marketplace for Vietnam. Their key advantage is network: they connect to Viettel — Vietnam's largest carrier with ~54% market share — plus Vinaphone. That combination gives the strongest rural coverage of any eSIM provider listed here.

Airalo Vietnam unlimited plans
| Validity | Price (USD) | FUP (daily high-speed cap) |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | $12.50 | 3 GB/day → 1 Mbps |
| 5 days | $20.50 | 3 GB/day → 1 Mbps |
| 7 days | $29.50 | 3 GB/day → 1 Mbps |
| 10 days | $35.00 | 3 GB/day → 1 Mbps |
| 15 days | $49.00 | 3 GB/day → 1 Mbps |
| 30 days | $79.00 | 3 GB/day → 1 Mbps |
Note on Airalo's Vietnam plan structure: Airalo offers multiple validity options per data tier — for example, 5 GB is available as 7-day, 15-day, or 30-day plans at different prices. The 30-day plan is the best value per GB on larger sizes; the 7-day plans suit shorter trips where you need the data fast but don't want a long validity window.
Networks: Viettel and Vinaphone — the #1 and #2 carriers in Vietnam. Best rural coverage of any eSIM provider in this comparison. Viettel's reach into Ha Giang, the Mekong Delta, and Sapa is unmatched. App required.
Holafly Vietnam eSIM prices 2026
Holafly sells unlimited plans only — no fixed data options. If you want to control spend with a set data allowance, they're not the right fit. Their strength is simplicity for travelers who don't want to think about data volume at all.
| Validity | Price (USD) | FUP |
|---|---|---|
| 3 days | $11.70 | Not disclosed |
| 5 days | $19.50 | Not disclosed |
| 7 days | $27.30 | Not disclosed |
| 10 days | $36.90 | Not disclosed |
| 15 days | $50.90 | Not disclosed |
| 30 days | $74.90 | Not disclosed |
Watch out: Holafly doesn't publish their throttling threshold for Vietnam. You won't know how much high-speed data you're getting before speeds drop. Fine for city travel; riskier if you're relying on data for navigation in areas with weak signal.
Networks: Vinaphone (VNPT). Strong in cities and tourist destinations. App optional — can manage via customer panel.
Nomad Vietnam eSIM prices 2026
Nomad offers fixed plans with a transparent FUP on their unlimited options. Their Vietnam coverage uses Vietnamobile and Vinaphone — the same combination as Travelsim Asia — but at a slightly higher price point on most plan sizes.

|---|---|---|
| 5 days | $18.00 | 2 GB/day → 512 Kbps |
| 10 days | $33.00 | 2 GB/day → 512 Kbps |
Note: Nomad's unlimited throttles to 512 Kbps after 2 GB/day — that's below the threshold where Grab navigation and Google Maps work reliably. Their fixed plans are a better experience for most Vietnam travelers.
Networks: Vietnamobile and Vinaphone. App required.
Saily Vietnam eSIM prices 2026
Saily is NordVPN's eSIM product. Fixed plans are available alongside unlimited, with a relatively generous 5 GB/day FUP on unlimited. Their Vietnamese network isn't publicly listed — worth verifying before purchasing if rural coverage matters for your trip.

Which Vietnam eSIM gives the best value?
Like Japan, there's no single winner — it depends on what you're optimising for.
Cheapest 1 GB short-trip plan: Saily at $3.99 / 7 days — narrowly ahead of Travelsim Asia at $4.99 and Nomad / Airalo at $4.00 (though Airalo's 1 GB lasts only 3 days). Saily wins on per-GB price here but doesn't disclose Vietnamese networks.
Best fixed-plan price (5 GB / 30 days): Travelsim Asia at $9.50 — the cheapest 5 GB plan in this comparison by $0.50 over Nomad ($10.00), with no app required.
Best 10 GB fixed plan: Nomad at $17.00 — Travelsim Asia and Saily both at $17.99, Airalo at $20.00. Nomad edges it on price while sharing the same Vietnamobile + Vinaphone network combination as Travelsim Asia.
Best for rural Vietnam (Ha Giang, Mekong Delta, Sapa): Airalo — Viettel's rural coverage is unmatched. Worth the extra cost on fixed plans if remote travel is central to your trip.
Best unlimited option: Saily leads on FUP generosity — 5 GB/day before throttling to 1 Mbps, significantly more than Nomad's 512 Kbps cap or Airalo's 1 Mbps after 3 GB/day. Holafly doesn't disclose their threshold at all. For 7 days: Nomad $18 (5d) / Saily $28.99 / Holafly $27.30 — Nomad is cheapest but throttles hardest.
Most expensive unlimited: Holafly at $74.90 for 30 days, with no FUP disclosure. Saily's 30-day unlimited is $71.99 with a 5 GB/day cap — better value and more transparent.
The Vietnam network question
Vietnam's network landscape matters more than in most destinations because the gap between carriers is significant — especially outside cities.
| Network | Market share | Rural coverage | Which eSIM providers use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Viettel | ~54% | Best nationwide | Airalo |
| Vinaphone | ~23% | Strong in cities and tourist areas | Airalo, Holafly, Travelsim Asia, Nomad |
| Mobifone | ~19% | Good in cities | — |
| Vietnamobile | ~3% | Mainly urban | Travelsim Asia, Nomad |
For the standard Vietnam tourist route — Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc — Vinaphone covers everything you need. Viettel's advantage only materialises if you're going genuinely off the tourist trail.
Hidden costs to watch out for
Throttling on unlimited plans. Vietnam is a Grab-dependent country. At throttled speeds — especially Nomad's 512 Kbps cap — ride-hailing apps struggle. Factor in actual usable data, not just "unlimited" labelling.
Undisclosed FUPs. Holafly and some Ubigi unlimited plans don't publish their throttle threshold for Vietnam. You find out on the ground. If that's a dealbreaker, stick to fixed plans or providers with published caps.
Validity windows. Vietnam trips often run longer than planned. A 5-day plan bought for a "quick trip" can leave you scrambling for a top-up in Hoi An. Fixed plans with 30-day validity give breathing room.
Activation deadlines. Most plans must be activated within a set window after purchase. Travelsim Asia gives 180 days — useful if you're buying in advance. Verify the activation window for any provider before purchasing.
How much data do you actually need in Vietnam?
Vietnam's data demands depend heavily on travel style. Constant Grab use in cities, Google Maps for navigation, and messaging apps add up — but it's less intensive than Japan's translation-heavy environment.
| Usage type | Per day | 7 days | 14 days | Recommended plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grab, maps, messaging | 300–600 MB | 2–4 GB | 4–8 GB | 3–5 GB |
| + social media and photos | 800 MB–1.5 GB | 5–10 GB | 10–20 GB | 10 GB |
| + video calls and streaming | 2–3 GB | 14–20 GB | 28–40 GB | 20 GB or unlimited |
Most travelers fall in the first or second row. Hotel and café WiFi is widely available in Vietnam's cities — use it for streaming and heavy downloads, and your 5–10 GB plan will go further.
