How to install your eSim

iOS — iPhone & iPad

Requires iPhone XS or later running iOS 12.1+. QR code is the quickest method — use manual entry only if the camera scan fails.

Method 1 — Scan the QR code

1. Connect to Wi-Fi and open your order confirmation email on a second screen.
2. Open the Camera app and point it at the QR code.
3. Tap "Cellular Plan Detected" when it appears at the top of the screen.
4. Tap Continue, give the eSIM a label (e.g. "Japan"), then tap Done.
5. Go to Settings → Mobile Data → [your new eSIM] and toggle on Data Roaming.

Method 2 — Enter SM-DP+ address manually

Use this if the camera scan doesn't work. Your SM-DP+ address and activation code are in your order email.

1. Go to Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM.
2. Tap Enter Details Manually (on some iOS versions it appears as a small link below the QR option).
3. Enter your SM-DP+ address and activation code.
4. Follow the prompts, give the eSIM a label, then tap Done.
5. Go to Settings → Mobile Data → [your new eSIM] and toggle on Data Roaming.

Once you land

1. Go to Settings → Mobile Data.
2. Under Mobile Data, select your Travelsim Asia eSIM.
3. You're online.

Android

Menu labels vary by brand. Paths below follow stock Android (Google Pixel). Samsung users: replace Network & Internet with Connections, and SIM cards with SIM card manager.

Method 1 — Scan the QR code

1. Connect to Wi-Fi and open your order confirmation email on a second screen.
2. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIM cards → Add eSIM.
3. Tap Scan QR code and scan the code from your email.
4. Follow the prompts, give the eSIM a label, then tap Activate.
5. In SIM settings, select your new eSIM and enable Data Roaming.

Method 2 — Enter SM-DP+ address manually

Your SM-DP+ address and activation code are in your order email.

1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIM cards → Add eSIM.
2. Tap Enter activation code manually.
3. Enter your SM-DP+ address and activation code.
4. Follow the prompts, give the eSIM a label, then tap Activate.
5. In SIM settings, select your new eSIM and enable Data Roaming.

Once you land

1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIM cards.
2. Set Preferred SIM for mobile data to your Travelsim Asia eSIM.
3. You're online.
