Travelsim Asia is cheaper on every fixed plan tier. The gap is largest on smaller plans — the 3 GB plan is $3.51 less, with more than double the validity — and on the 50 GB plan, where the difference is $13. The 10 GB tier is the closest, but TSA still undercuts Airalo by a dollar.
Airalo Hong Kong unlimited plans
Airalo offers unlimited plans for Hong Kong. Travelsim Asia does not. If unlimited is a hard requirement, Airalo is your only option between these two.

Airalo’s standard unlimited policy provides 3 GB per 24 hours, then 1 Mbps unless the package states otherwise. For a lighter Hong Kong trip with maps, messaging and hotel WiFi, our 5 GB plan at $8.99 is a practical alternative. Choose more data for frequent video or hotspotting.
Network comparison: csl + SmarTone vs HKT
Travelsim Asia’s Hong Kong eSIM connects to csl and SmarTone, two separate operators. Airalo lists HKT, the csl network. Travelsim Asia gives you an independent second operator to try if one has weak reception where you are staying.

If network choice is the deciding factor, both providers list csl through HKT. Travelsim Asia also lists SmarTone, a separate operator to try if reception is poor. That second option is our advantage in this head-to-head; reception still depends on your location.

The answer depends on one question: do you need unlimited data?

- Choose Travelsim Asia if: you want a fixed data plan. You'll pay less on every tier — anywhere from $1 to $13 less for the same data volume — and you won't need to download an app or create an account. For the overwhelming majority of Hong Kong visitors, a fixed 3–5 GB plan is more than enough.
- Choose Airalo if you want an unlimited plan or prefer to keep your eSIMs in an existing Airalo account. Check the high-speed allowance on the package you choose.
- Consider Nomad if: you want the cheapest 5- or 10-day unlimited plan. Nomad's 5-day unlimited is $18.00 against Airalo's $19.00, and their 10 GB fixed plan at $16.00 undercuts both providers on this page. Nomad lists CMCC HK, csl and 1O1O, with csl and 1O1O belonging to HKT and offers QR installation with account-based management.
For most Hong Kong travelers, Travelsim Asia is the better pick. Fixed plans cover the majority of trips, the prices are lower on every tier, there's no app friction, and the eSIM pairs csl with SmarTone, two separate Hong Kong operators, where Airalo's plan runs on csl alone. Airalo's unlimited plans are the one area they hold an advantage, but for a city with WiFi nearly everywhere, most visitors won't need them.
