For a trip through Japan and South Korea, our Asia 14 eSIM gives you one shared balance and one installation. A 10 GB plan costs $19.99 for 30 days. You can use that data in either country, in any order.
We sell the plans compared here. Our recommendation changes with the amount of data you need: the regional pack is a good fit for a shared 10 GB allowance; separate country plans can cost less when you want more data in each country.

The 3 GB plan lasts 15 days. The larger plans last 30 days, beginning at the first connection in any covered destination. Crossing from Japan to Korea does not restart the clock. You can add data to the same eSIM from your dashboard.
When separate plans cost less

At 10 GB, the regional plan saves $1.99 against buying 5 GB in each country. At 20 GB, two 10 GB country plans save $7.01. Both country plans have 30-day validity, starting separately on connection in their destination.
The balances behave differently. With two 5 GB plans, unused Japan data cannot be spent in Korea. With one shared 10 GB plan, using 7 GB in Japan leaves 3 GB for Korea. Choose separate plans if you know how you want to divide the data and the saving matters more than keeping one balance.
Competitors can improve the separate-plan total. In our 26 September price comparison, Ubigi’s Korea plan lists 10 GB for 30 days at $14.00, below our Korea price of $16.99. Pairing it with our Japan 10 GB plan gives 20 GB split between the countries for $29.99. That is cheaper than our shared 20 GB plan, with two separate allowances and installation arrangements.

These are the networks included in this regional pack. Our single-country Japan plan also lists NTT docomo and Rakuten Mobile, so it offers a different network selection. A 5G listing describes access on supported networks; your phone and location determine the connection you get. Asia 14 data exits through Singapore.
How much data to choose for both countries
Add together the data you expect to use in Japan and Korea. For example, 0.7 GB a day over 14 days works out to 9.8 GB; a 10 GB allowance leaves little spare room. At 1 GB a day, the same trip needs 14 GB. These are planning examples, not measurements of everyone’s usage. The multi-country data guide shows how to adjust the budget.
Our Japan customer observations can help with the Japan part of the trip. They do not establish how much you will use in Korea. If you are unsure, choose a starting allowance and check your balance during the trip; you can top up without installing another eSIM.
Set it up once, then keep it selected
Install from the link or QR code in your email while you have Wi-Fi. Select the travel eSIM for mobile data and turn on its data roaming when you are ready to connect. Keep that selection when you arrive in the second country. The plan is data only, without a local phone number or standard calls and SMS.
Asia 14 also covers other destinations, including Taiwan and Laos. It excludes Singapore and mainland China. If either is another stop on your route, compare the full destination list before buying.
